The Beginning

After being rugged on the original version, PumpaMeta (@PumpaMeta) relaunched the coin himself on pump.fun. He did so live on camera, with no team and no backing. In one of his most detailed posts, he described what happened:

“let me tell you a story of someone who wants to make it in the crazy space that is the solana trenches. a guy in his mid 20s quits his job to pursue crypto full time. finds a meme he falls in love with. gets rugged on it. decides the meme is too good to die, so he relaunches it himself. live on camera. no team. no backing. just a feeling. the first 48 hours it hits 4.2 million… then people rotate. because that's what people do. but he doesn't. as days go by, the chart bleeds. he watches it fall from millions to 200k and instead of walking away he puts in his own money… now its christmas eve. a miracle happens. the chart touches 1 million… instead he locks 2% more supply. doesn't sell a single token. after that, it only goes down over 4 months… 30k. choppy. quiet. for months. but he's still there. making tshirts by hand, printing stickers… creating memes every day. livestreaming. still believing when the numbers say he shouldn't. until one day he can't anymore… so he https'd. for the first time in 4 months. about a week later he posts a simple tweet. just his pnl and the words 'i tried.'… the chart is at 160k. people saw the post and sent it… a few days later he makes another post. this time it catches… it hits 550k.”

The Exit

After months of holding through heavy drawdowns and putting in significant personal capital, he eventually sold at a substantial loss. He later reflected on this moment directly:

“i lost 70k+ building a memecoin i love over the course of 6 months. then i ran out of money… i sold pico bottom with nothing left to give, after giving everything. then i just started telling the truth on X… over 2 weeks those posts hit a million views total and the trenches sent https from 30k to over a 1M mc. a dream come true. then it dipped 75% in 2 days. and honestly? that's the whole point.”

Conviction

@PumpaMeta has consistently spoken about the importance of real conviction over short-term hype. In separate posts, he wrote:

“everyone underestimates the power of a story”

and

“if you aren't bidding a story to go along with a meme, what are we even doing”

A Final Note

“it's an https market. always has been. i'm just a 24 y/o who decided to stop trading the cycle and start believing in the thing that named it.”
